Overcoming Overwhelm

By Leanne Watson

Out of sheer frustration, I ended up creating for myself the easiest means of self development I've ever come across and it truly is the busy person's road to success.

I've spent more years that I'm going to tell you studying and observing behavior at University, through my teaching career, my studied and my life. I've read countless books attended many seminars and workshops and the bottom line is that it's certainly not what happens to us that counts!

What makes the difference is what you say to yourself about what's happened. and what you say to yourself is clearly based on the way you've interpreted your life to this point in time. Whether you see the glass as half full or half empty.

As a business owner, a parent and the partner of a person who worked long hours and travelled extensively I had no time to spare.

I did heaps of professional and personal development and I always came away from everything I did feeling motivated and ready for action ... and then life kicked in. I was so frustrated because I knew if I could just create a better mindset, then life would be so much easier. But to do that I had to have time to think about it (or so I thought) and I just didn't have that time.

And then one day I drew the line in the sand. I decided enough is enough! Things had to change.

And it came to me; the dawn of realization. I had to change the little voice in my head. You know the one, the one that keeps up that continuous line of chatter of doubt and negativity, that one that one always has something chronic and damning to say about you and your luck and your life. Things like ... you could never ... it's all right for them ... you'll never be able to ... I wouldn't happen to you ... why would 'they' listen to you ... Sound familiar?

You can probably relate to this:

  • I had no time to write affirmations.
  • No matter how hard I 'tried' I didn't seem to be able to think positive thoughts for any great length of time ... and ...
  • As soon as I thought a negative thought I instantly started beating myself up for it and telling myself how dreadful I was
  • I set goal after goal after goal and I always managed to focus on the ones I didn't get.
  • I was taking as much massive action as I knew how and nothing seemed to be changing.
  • I was working REALLY hard and no matter how hard I worked there was always more to do.

I was frustrated, exhausted, dispirited and disillusioned and a virtual time bomb and what's more I was a pain to all I loved and held dear.

I needed to make changes before I got changes I didn't want!

So I started recording my affirmations with uplifting music behind them and playing them as I drove to appointments and the children to their various things, as I did the housework and cooked the meals. And you know what? This very simple means of subliminal messaging worked!

Within days I was exercising and loving it. I was eating better and feeling great about myself, my partner, my children and my work. I was taking life and all its hiccups in my stride, so I was sleeping and waking up feeling refreshed and ready for a new day.

And guess what else? Because I was playing my recordings any time and anywhere, they impacted my whole family in the same way. As a result we were all enjoying life and each other much, much more.

I know that research into the effects of Subliminal Hypnosis is well documented and quite frankly from my own personal experience Subliminal Hypnosis is the best.

Subliminal Hypnosis and Values

By Leanne Watson

The effectiveness Subliminal Hypnosis can have on a person's thoughts and behaviors was determined in the 1970's and has been well researched and documented. One of the most fascinating things about subliminal hypnosis is the fact that for the most part you're not even aware your being influenced!.

In fact, according to Takeo Watanabe, an associate professor of psychology at Boston University's Centre for Brain and Memory, you need to watch out - you may learn something and not even know it. May 26, 2005 (Boston)

For some people the terms 'subliminal hypnosis' or 'subliminal programming' brings to mind pictures from the movies of malevolent scientists or dictators with evil intentions, trying to brainwash the world. This could not be further from the truth.

Core Values

The hard facts are that hypnosis in any form will only work if it matches with your core values. Your core values are the things which you believe are important, they motivate you to take action and you give priority to the activities that match them.

The sad truth is though, that if I asked you what your core values are, the chances are you would struggle to find the answer. And you wouldn't be alone. The reality is that despite the fact that they determine the way you live your life most of us are not fully aware of what our own core values are.

It's this unawareness of what's important to us which causes the greatest amount of conflict in our lives.

Every single one of us has our own set of core values, as do institutions and workplaces. And funnily enough this includes people such as partners, friends and employers; they all have their own values and they all have an effect on us and our lives. And this is where problems can begin.

When you're unaware of your own core values it's easy to find yourself living according to the values of other people and/or your workplace instead of following your own truth.

For example, at home you may find yourself following the values of your partner. When you go out you may find yourself being influenced by the values of your friends. In the workplace, you may find yourself following the values of your employer and so on.

Yet how many of these values would you feel fitted with your own core values? Furthermore, if you spend your life meeting only the values of others, do you feel that would be a balanced, happy and fulfilling life?

This is not to say that the values of others are not important. They most definitely are important, however it is important for us to recognize their values and how they impact or affect our own lives. A source of stress or frustration can occur in your life when you are striving to fulfil someone else's values and not living in accordance with your own.

It's very easy to confuse your own personal values with family or societal values. If you find yourself making a decision based on what you should or must do, you aren't using your own values. On the other hand, decisions based on what you need or want to do in your life are made using your own unique values.

It's by your own core values that you measure your success and happiness. It is your values that tell you what is important in your life. When you and the people you live and work with all understand your core values clearly it's so much easier to live and work in balance.

The clearer you are about your own core values the easier it is to make decisions about the way you spend your time and the things you do in your life.
